Publication template tutorial
This tutorial is designed to lead new users through the process of modifying
a publication template. For information about using publication templates to
create a publication, please see Create
a publication or Publication tutorial.

Note This tutorial was designed for Microsoft Word 2000, but it can
be also be used with other versions of Word.
- Open Microsoft Word.
Open
a publication template.
- On the File menu, click Open.
- Select the Blue (US Letter) template. Publication templates are
found in the Templates folder of the Living Cookbook program folder (normally
C:\Program Files\Radium Technologies\Living Cookbook\Templates).
- Click Open to open the template.
Save
the template.
- On the File menu, click Save As.
- Save the file as Tutorial Template.
Note Publication templates should be saved in the Templates folder
of the Living Cookbook program folder (normally C:\Program Files\Radium
Technologies\Living Cookbook\Templates). This will ensure that your templates
will be backed up with your other Living Cookbook files.
Change
the publication name font.
- On the Format menu,click Style.
- Select the Publication Name style.
- Click Modify.
- Click Format and then click Font.
- Select Garamond from the Font list (or select another
font if you don't have Garamond on your computer).
- Select Bold from the Font Style list.
- Click OK to close the Font window.
- Click OK to close the Modify Style window.
- Click Close to close the Style window.

Add
an image to the cover page.
- Scroll up to the first page of the template.
- Click at the end of the publication comments.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, then click From
File.
- Select a picture for your cover page and click Insert.
- Right-click on the picture and, on the popup menu, click Format Picture.
- Click the Size tab.
- Make sure the Lock aspect ratio option is checked.
- Type 75% in the Width box.
- Click the Layout tab.
- Click the Behind Text option.
- Click Other (horizontal alignment option).
- Click OK.
- Click and drag the picture to the center of the page.
Right
justify the recipe image.
- On the Format menu,click Style.
- Select the Recipe Image style.
- Click Modify.
- Click Format and then click Paragraph.
- Select Right from the Alignment list.
- Click OK to close the Paragraph window.
- Click OK to close the Modify Style window.
- Click Close to close the Style window.
Increase
the space between recipe ingredients and the recipe procedure.
- On the Format menu,click Style.
- Select the Ingredient Last style.
Tip Living Cookbook applies the Ingredient Last
style to the last ingredient in each recipe.
- Click Modify.
- Click Format and then click Paragraph.
- Enter 18pt in the After box (under Spacing).
- Click OK to close the Paragraph window.
- Click OK to close the Modify Style window.
- Click Close to close the Style window.
Save
the modified template.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- Close Microsoft Word.
