Select
the inventory item ingredients.
- Select the ingredients you would like to associate with the inventory
item. For example, if your new inventory item is milk, you might want
to select whole milk, 2% milk and 1% milk.
Note An ingredient can only be associated
with one inventory item.
Note An inventory item must be associated
with at least one ingredient.
- If more than one ingredient is associated with the inventory item, select
the one you use most often (and shop for) and click Default to
make that ingredient the default ingredient for the inventory item.
- Click Next.
Enter
the inventory data for the item.
- If the inventory item is on hand enter the on hand quantity and
unit.
- If you want to specify a minimum order quantity, enter the minimum
order quantity and unit. For example, it might not make sense to order
less than a gallon of milk because it is so much cheaper by the gallon.
- If you want to specify an order at quantity, enter the quantity
and unit. For example, if you want to order more milk when your inventory
level reaches half a gallon then enter 1/2 gallon as your order at quantity.
- If you want this inventory item to be ordered when you restock inventory
then enter an order up to quantity and unit.
- Select the order quantity mode for the inventory item. For example,
if you select Fraction then the inventory item will appear as "1/2
gallon milk" on a grocery list. If you select Decimal then
the inventory item will appear as "0.5 gallon milk" on a grocery
list.
- Select the order unit for the inventory item. This is the unit
that will appear on grocery lists.
- Enter the singular and plural display names for the order unit
(e.g. "gallon" and "gallons").
- Select When ordering always order multiples if you want to order
only multiples of the order unit. For example, you can't order half a
bottle of ketchup. Selecting this option will round up order quantities
to the nearest specified multiple.
Tip Click Add Measure to add a
measure to the inventory item (this actually adds the measure to the default
ingredient for the inventory item).
- Click Finish.
