| Wonderful Date Nut Bread |

hot water |

| 2/3 cup |

brown sugar, packed |

| 1/2 cup |

honey |

butter |

egg, beaten |

chopped walnuts |

In mixing bowl, combine dates, water, sugar, honey and butter; let stand 15 minutes. |

Stir in egg and vanilla. |

Sift together flour, soda and salt; stir into batter with the nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. |

Bake in 325°F over 50 to 60 minutes, wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. |

Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Slide onto cooling rack to cool completely. |
