Import recipes

Recipe data can be imported from the following file types: Food Data Exchange XML (FDX), Living Cookbook XML (LC2 and LCX), MasterCook (MXP and MX2), Meal-Master (TXT, MMF and MM), Pocket Express (CSV), MicroKitchen Companion (TXT) and Recipe Processor 2000 (TXT).

Tip  Click on the hyperlinks next to the arrows to expand each section or click the show all link at the top right of this page.

  1. On the File menu, click Import.
  2. Choose the import file type.
    1. Choose an import file type.
    2. Click Next.
  3. Choose the import file.
    1. Click the Import File ellipsis button to select a file to import.
    2. Tip  If you don't want to import all of the recipes in the file, click the checkboxes next to the recipes to deselect them.

    3. Click Next.
  4. Choose the import options.
    1. Click the Recipe Options ellipsis button (...).
    2. Select the Import Target options.
    3. Select the Recipe Elements you want to import.
    4. Select the Duplicate Recipe options.
    5. Select the Recipe Formatting options.
    6. Click OK to close the Recipe Import Properties window.
    7. Click Next.
  5. Review the import progress.
    1. Click the Save Log if you wish to save the import log as a text file.
  6. Click Finish to close the window.
