Recipe capture tutorial
This tutorial leads the new user through the steps to capture a recipe from
the Internet or a text file.
Click on the hyperlinks next to the arrows
to
expand each section or click the show all link at the top right of this
page.
- Select the Recipe Navigator tab.
How?
Open
the new recipe window.
- On the Action menu, point to New, and then click Recipe.
- Click the Recipe tab.
- Click the Cookbook Chapter ellipsis button
and select My Chapter (the chapter we created in the Recipe
Data Entry Tutorial) from the Select Chapter dialog.
Copy
a recipe from the Internet.
- Open a web browser window (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.) and
navigate to a recipe web site such as www.allrecipes.com.
- Find a recipe you want to import.
- Click before the recipe title.
- Press shift and click after the end of the recipe.
- Press shift+C to copy the recipe text.
Tip The procedure is essentially if you
want to copy a recipe from a text file, spreadsheet, etc. Just select and
copy the recipe text.
Paste
the recipe into the capture box.
- Click the Living Cookbook application to give it focus.
- Click the Capture tab.
- Click on the Capture box and press CTRL+V to paste the
recipe text.
Capture
the recipe.
- Select the recipe name.
- Click the Recipe Name button.
- Repeat step 2 for each of the capture types (recipe author, preparation
time, ingredients, etc.).
- Click Next.
- Click OK to close the dialog.
- Your captured recipe will be displayed.

a recipe
Link
a recipe ingredient to the ingredient database.
Create
a recipe ingredient heading.
Create
a procedure heading.
Calculate
